About this listen

Jessica Fletcher is quick to accept an invitation to replace a speaker who couldn’t attend a Book Festival in Belfast, Ireland. When her Cabot Cove neighbor Maeve O'Bannon hears about the trip, she asks Jessica to deliver some paintings to her family in the village of Bushmills. Happy to extend her travels and see more of the Irish countryside, Jessica agrees.

The festival goes off without a hitch, and it seems like Jessica is in for a relaxing vacation. But then Maeve’s cousin Michael is discovered dead under suspicious circumstances. Jessica finds herself once again in the midst of a murder investigation, and she’ll have to dig into the O'Bannon family’s secrets to unmask the killer.

Not up to the usual standard of JBFletcher, weak story line & very disappointing conclusion.

Disappointing

I’ve loved the rest of this series but this one seemed to have a very slow and unimpressive plot.

Not as good as the rest of the series

Really hate to rate so low as I’m a huge MSW fan but this story is utterly boring, poorly written and there are no characters to like or get behind.
I had to re-listen several times to certain parts and still didn’t get the plot; or lost the will to care.
Also - dislike this narrators ‘Jessica’ voice with a passion.

Hate to rate so low but…

I have had fun listening to other Murder She Wrote stories. However this one is shocking.
I have lived in Northern Ireland all my life and 36 years on the North Coast. I found this book an insult to the Northern Irish. All the characters were clearly from somewhere below Dublin. Even the surnames are not representative of our 6 counties. The characters were definitely not Northern Irish. It wasn't just the bad accent... I know the NI accent is difficult... the script was written in a "brogue". We do not speak like that. If writing about our lovely country again, please come and visit! I guarantee it is nothing like your portrayal except that the North Coast is stunningly beautiful. Better research needed!

Zero understanding of the people of Northern Ireland!
