Summary

WINTER 1925

Newlyweds Camille Divine and Richard Owen embark on a dream honeymoon to the breathtaking island of Capri, accompanied by Camille's lady's maid, Cecily, and Russell Lewis, her new husband. The picturesque landscapes, luxurious Grand Hotel Auguste, and serene beauty of the Blue Grotto set the perfect backdrop for their romantic getaway. But paradise quickly turns perilous when a young woman is found murdered in the terraced garden.

Chief Inspector Richard Owen, despite being on holiday, steps up to investigate the shocking crime. With Camille's intelligence and resourcefulness, and Cecily and Russell's unique assistance, they begin to unravel a web of deceit and hidden relationships among the hotel’s eclectic guests. Tensions rise as suspects feel the heat, and the four face close calls, cryptic conversations, and emerging patterns that point towards a larger conspiracy threatening the two honeymooning couples.

As Camille and Richard dig deeper, they discover hidden correspondence, shedding light on a crime being undertaken beneath the noses of the Capri police. A second murder further complicates their mission, leading them into the shadowy underworld of Capri, where illegal dealings are conducted at a renowned art gallery and at the Villa Luminosa, home to a well-known art collector.
