I LOVE Chinese food. I always wondered what it would be like to grow up in a Chinese culture with its food. I always admired how they were able to be so healthy, thin, and live a long life. Well, it certainly wasn't because of the fast food version of Chinese food. I just taught my self this past year about SEVERAL different types of hot teas. I like tofu, and think I can put this diet to work for me. Excited to put it into motion.

My children made me notice that I was gaining weight due to my eating habits like eating too much food, not eating timely, etc. This book helped me in making my eating habits. I tried to follow as many habits as I could (Because I couldn't adopt all 21 habits at the same time, so I thought to take baby steps).

The author has done great research on Asian culture and their habits to lose weight. Because of this, I added two wonderful habits to my life. First, Daily walks, and second adding seafood to my plate.

The narrator's voice is very soothing to ears that you can listen and comprehend each and every word clearly. I recommend this book to adults of all ages. It's not difficult to lose weight but to change habits, In order to live life longer and happier without diseases, I think this much is necessary for all of us. Right??

This book is amazing from start to finish! It was so good I even had a discussion with my 9 year old son about it, letting him know that I will need his full support and acceptance (with no fussing) regarding some of the changes I will implement. One thing is this —no drinking cold liquids with meals —hot tea preferably. I don’t usually drink with my meal, as I accepted this practice long ago, but I allow my son to do so. I know it’s important for us to start the kids at a young age so that they will continue the health practices of their youth.

Also, I must admit that I am a fan of sugar substitutes instead of real sugar, believing I’m doing my body better. After hearing the info in this book, I will do my best to eliminate my substitutes, and opt for the more natural sweeteners or none at all. I never understood how my uncle could drink his coffee or tea with no sugar but he says that once he stopped, he could never go back. The flavors, he said, are more enhanced when taken naturally.

I was so happy to hear the author speak about using cayenne pepper in cooking! I do this quite often. My son is half Nigerian and many of the native soups I cook for him have pepper as a base. Whenever one is sick “pepper soup” does the trick every time !

The author also spoke about the myth of eating salads as a positive weight loss regime. In addition to the added fattening and high caloric dressings, salads are tough to digest. I never thought about it in terms of hard digestion, but it makes absolute sense !

I am so happy I came across this book. I will listen to it periodically to make sure I’m following the right path. And I’ll make sure to order my oolong tea today (I like that favor) and gave it with my meals !
