Summary

An addictive and gripping psychological thriller

A fast-paced and twist-filled psychological thriller from the author of The Couple's Revenge, The Perfect Nurse and the #1 bestseller, The Doctor's Wife.

I've never liked my next-door neighbour, Tanya, but I'm shocked when I discover she is having an affair. She doesn't seem the type, plus her husband, Joe, is gorgeous, so why would she risk her marriage?

With her secret out, I have to decide what to do next. My husband, Spencer, wants me to stay out of it. He says it's none of my business and he might be right. But news travels fast on a street as sleepy as mine and sordid secrets aren't safe in suburbia...

I can't help it. I have to get involved. I believe I am doing the right thing, only to discover, to my horror, that my neighbour is not the only one capable of making a mistake. I am too, as are the people closest to me, and as things get out of control and multiple marriages are at stake, I'm going to wish I never found out about my neighbour's affair...

The story was entertaining enough but I would have written a different ending. Would recommend.

Disappointing ending

I’ve read a few Daniel Hurst novels, which I haven’t rated very highly, but they were ok. This, however, was much worse, lacking in substance and quite tacky. None of the characters were likeable, and Clover’s voice was really irritating, making me dislike her more. The story was silly, totally unbelievable. I kept listening, assuming he would have put a surprising twist in the end, but no. It was completely predictable. And it was hurried too. Just seven hours of listening, because there was no depth or quality in the writing. I don’t want to read or listen to any more of Daniel Hurst’s books and I certainly couldn’t recommend this one.

Not up to Daniel Hurst’s standard

I loved this story, had a few unexpected twists. The only thing that spoiled it was the female narrator's voice. It was very sqwarky and annoying & I had to keep turning the volume down when it was her chapter. I don't think I would buy another book that she read.

Really enjoyable story

Enough in the story line to keep you interested. Kind of guessed the ending though

Great narration

Its difficult to keep up with who is sleeping with who. So much infidelity its unbelievable! Predicable storyline and characters with no depth to them. I almost gave up on it at one point. The narating voices aren't the most natural, mediocre.

Affair after affair!
