About this listen

They killed his brother. They buried the truth. They thought it was over. They were wrong. Ryan Blaze was a Marine, a warrior, a man who never broke under pressure. So when his body comes home in a flag-draped coffin, the official report—friendly fire, a tragic mistake—feels like a lie. His brother, Delta Force operator Axel Blaze, wants the truth. The deeper he digs, the darker it gets. Ryan wasn’t killed in combat—he was executed. His killers? American soldiers turned traitors, now living large off dirty money, hiding behind wealth and power. Blaze knows there’s only one way this ends. Some debts can only be paid in blood. From the battlefield to the streets of America, the hunt is on. Blaze wages war. No uniform, no rules—only a personal mission. Justice failed. Vengeance won’t. The nemesis is coming.

Praise for the series:

“Blaze combines the force of Reacher, the unapologetic badassery of Dirty Harry, the savagery of Frank Castle, and the calculated precision of Bourne.”

"Blaze is a no-nonsense guy. Shoot second...after head butting the guy first. My kind of hero!"

“Blaze is a badass in the real sense of the word. He doesn’t stop until every bad guy is broken or dead.”

Readers are saying: “…non-stop action…” “…fast and violent…” “Blaze is the new badass in town!!” “Must read! This series rocks!!”

Axel Blaze faces a foe forged from his past failures. This isn't just another criminal; it's a living indictment. The action is characteristically brutal, but the true tension is psychological. Blaze is forced to audit his own legacy, questioning if his victories have been worth their collateral damage. The narrative masterfully uses relentless pacing to explore themes of justice versus vengeance, making this a standout entry that deepens the entire series mythology through personal, painful scrutiny.

Blaze is forced to confront the hidden invoice of his heroism. "Nemesis" brilliantly calculates the human cost left in his wake, presenting a bill in the form of a vengeful, brilliant adversary. The action is intercut with moments of sobering reflection, questioning the true price of stopping evil. This thematic concern gives the relentless crime thriller action a poignant, unsettling resonance that lingers.

Blaze isn’t just fighting enemies; he’s fighting his own grief and guilt. The emotional richness gives the action more punch. The ending is both brutal and cathartic. Really well done from start to finish.

From the funeral onwards, I was hooked. The audiobook does a cracking job building tension without losing clarity. Blaze’s internal struggle comes through strongly, which made the revenge feel earned, not cheap. Bill Runner clearly put thought into the emotional arc, not just the body count. Would definitely listen to more in this series.

The writing just keeps getting better. After finishing all twelve books, it’s clear that Bill Rogers has evolved into a truly mature writer. He maintains a rock-solid "hot line" throughout the series, keeping the central plots tight and the momentum moving.
However, the series definitely sticks to a specific, predictable formula: if a beautiful woman appears in the first few chapters, you can bet your house that Axel will end up in bed with her. It’s a staple of the character at this point—Axel Blaze remains as predictable in his charms as he is effective in his job.
If you enjoy a gritty, well-paced thriller with a classic "alpha" lead, this series delivers exactly what it promises.
