Summary
I’ve always been a sucker for a guy with muscles and a handsome face. If that makes me sound shallow, maybe I am. I’ve never had a real relationship, unless you consider the guys in my Marine Corps Recon unit. I had a great relationship with those guys. Yeah, yeah, I know we’re splitting hairs. These days, long after my retirement from active duty, the only kind of relationships I really do now are with fictional characters.
I love to read, and lately, I’ve been frequenting the pages of my favorite blog, Bestreads, to escape my real-life job, one I’m not very well suited for. One reviewer on there—Nightcrawler—absolutely slays me. He always makes me laugh, steering me clear of some of the worst trash out there when I’m not trying to earn money as a bounty hunter. Maybe someday the right man will come along, and he won’t simply be a book boyfriend.
Someday.
Lately, I can’t get intrigued by any of the guys I’ve met in bars. Hookups are becoming less and less interesting for me. I’m a reader and of late, I’m also a half decent reviewer. I write exclusively for a blog called Bestreads, working under the name of Nightcrawler and I’m not ashamed to admit, I try to make them funny. In my line of work as a recovery agent for a big insurance company, I’m finding my off hours much more pleasurable.
I think about my next review and my next blog post all the time. Whenever I put up a funny two-star review, I dream of the guy who might be at home reading it, but pretty sure the kind of man who reads me, is probably living in his mother’s basement. Still, I’m a romantic at heart. Someday I might just run into him in one of my stories.
Someday.

Nightcrawler is a great enemies to lovers story with lots of exciting action. The chemistry between Raven and Miguel was scorching hot. They get into a bit of hot water but I knew that Patricia Logan would get them their well deserved HEA. I also loved the witty book reviews contained in this story.
The teaser for the next book was great and I can’t wait to read it.
I almost forgot to say what a great job Michael Dean did performing this book. His voice and Patricia’s writing make a great combination.
Fantastic start to a new series!

It focuses on Raven and Miguel. Miguel is a former Marine who has had some bad luck and Raven is a successful insurance recovery agent. They are actually on opposite sides, but in the current case they spontaneously decide to work together, which is a good thing, because shortly afterwards the situation gets dicey.
The story is entertaining, with amusing sections, suspenseful and lots of action, just the way I like it.
It was a pleasure to follow the case and the development of Raven and Miguel. I really liked them both and the chemistry between them is definitely there.
Oh well, Raven loves to read and writes for a blog. The highlight of this story for me was Nightcrawler's humorously written reviews, which very often put a grin on my face.
Those who know the Death and Destruction series will be pleased to see one or two of the characters again, I certainly was.
Michael Dean narrated the audiobook and as always he did a fantastic job. I could tell the characters apart very well and Michael always manages to portray the emotions appropriately. He has a pleasant voice that I found easy to listen to! I'm already looking forward to the next volume!
Great start to a new series - very entertaining!

They initially run into each other on a job and both are injured.
After that, it seems as though they keep running into each other everywhere.
There's lots of fast-paced action, danger and adventure.
There's also an immediate spark between the two of them and the interspersed bits of book reviews from Nightcrawler were absolutely hilarious.
The narrator did an amazing job bringing these characters to life.
Great spinoff series
