Summary

From Richard Lyntton comes an explosive international thriller featuring British journalist, former tank commander, and trained killer Jack Steele.

London. Moscow. Vladivostok. Pyongyang.

An unimaginable nuclear disaster threatens thousands of lives.

And a global conspiracy wants Jack Steele dead before he can stop it.

Steele survived the First Gulf War, Bosnia, and his years as a UN peacekeeper. A gifted linguist fluent in Russian, German, French, and Bosnian, he has spent his life navigating the dangerous fault lines between East and West.

Now he is drawn into his most perilous mission yet.

Two UN officials have vanished near the Tumen Triangle—the volatile border region linking Russia, China, and North Korea.

Few Westerners have ever ventured there.

Fewer still return.

What begins as an investigation soon spirals into a deadly race against time involving political deception, espionage, betrayal, and the terrifying possibility of nuclear catastrophe.

Then Steele rescues a child falling beneath the ice.

It is the first domino to fall.

As the conspiracy deepens, Steele must risk his marriage, his career, and his loyalty to Queen and country to prevent a disaster capable of reshaping the world.

North Korea Deception is a gripping international espionage thriller of suspense, intrigue, impossible choices, and geopolitical danger.

For fans of Robert Ludlum, John le Carré, Frederick Forsyth, David Baldacci, Tom Clancy, and Vince Flynn.

Enjoyable story with good depth and different agendas in play. Moves along at a fast pace.
Seemed something odd about the narration at times, particularly the start, where the monotone and speed didn’t match the drama of the story. But at other times was fine. And the accents were good and a welcome addition.

Good pace and characters

I don't know how the author was allowed to read this, I nearly gave up but thought I should finish it because I paid good money for this. Avoid.
