About this listen

Navy Captain Wes Masters, newly posted to head the White House Medical Unit, is a physician with only one patient, but her job is twenty-four/seven. Her charge is simple - protect and preserve the well-being of the most powerful man in the world - the President of the United States. As the First Physician, Wes must travel by President Andrew Powell's side, in the hot zone, and with everything she needs to save his life, or in case he becomes injured or falls ill. Her job gets even harder when she has to prove she is up to the task to Secret Service Agent, Evyn Daniels, a member of the elite Presidential Protection Detail, and a woman who challenges Wes on more than just the professional front...

Evyn isn't happy about inserting Wes into PPD, especially since Evyn believes the post should have gone to her good friend, Dr. Peter Chang. The stakes soon get even higher for all involved, when Homeland Security's Deputy Director, Cameron Roberts, is brought in to investigate a possible security breach, and everyone, including Evyn, is a suspect.

Oath of Honor is the third book in the First Responders series by Radclyffe. Combining personal drama with political realism a la "The West Wing", this audiobook is the story of Captain Wes Masters, first physician to the fictional president of the United States, Andrew Powell. As if the high-stress job wasn't enough, social rivalries and romantic intrigues break out within the Presidential Protection Detail. This couldn't be good for the President's safety….

Betsy Zajko's expressive voice has a smooth, silk-like tone, allowing listeners to really digest each detail of the prose.

I really want to smack Russo's smugness right of the side of his face.

It's all so plausible that's the scary part. I did want to tell Evan to get a grip and Wes to stop being so nice but... that's probably the teacher in me.

Can't wait to read Firestorm and Price of Honor.

It's all coming together

This lesfic story has the usual holes and anomalies in the plot, which are common to Radclyffe novels, but the romantic attraction and sex scenes are well written. Betsy Xajko struggles for a while to bring real meaning and feeling into her reading but overall she is a very good narrator and later on she is excellent.

Narrator is very good

Good voice, nice and easy to listen to. Good story, it follows on nicely from the previous books in the series.
Unfortunately I spent quite some time re listening due to the fact she has no difference in voices for the other main characters. I got easily confused as to which character was speaking when they were speaking to each other!
Also, she mis pronounces certain key words and there's no way you can ignore them as they're vital to the story at that time.. ( No spoilers here) Overall a good follow on story with characters from other books thrown in, and worth the read even if you've not read the previous books.

Good voice, good story.

Great story, I love Radclyffe's work - total legend. But boy does Betsy Zajko give it her all for the sexy bits!!

I adore Betsy's narration

A good subplot to the Honour series introducing some different MC's. I did miss Abby Craden as the storyteller her characterization in main series was spot on the voice characters in this story were imho a bit weak and did not fit the profiles and occasionally got mixed up. The male characters did not come over as ruthless supervillains.
A good listen however and my second time around and I would listen again. Recommended.

Good addition to the honour series
