Fae fantasy meets Vikings in this enemies-to-lovers romance about a broken ice-fae princess who must earn her Valkyrie wings, a villainous fire-fae who will stop at nothing to get his revenge, and an ancient war that could see their whole world burn.

Princess Madivia is broken. Her fae magic doesn’t work, her illness will kill her, and nobody knows she exists.
So when the gods select her to leave her tower in the Ice Court and train to be a Valkyrie at Featherblade, she is sure they’ve made a terrible mistake.
So is every other fae at Featherblade. All except the disgraced fire-fae Valkyrie, Kain. His burning gaze never leaves her. Nobody knows what he did to have his wings taken away, but he is as dangerous as the deadly world Maddy has been drawn into.
And she has the key to his revenge.
If he discovers her secret, it won’t just be Maddy’s life that is in danger. She knows she should avoid him.
But, the only thing harder than becoming a Valkyrie? Conquering her searing fascination with the unhinged fire-fae.

If she is to survive Featherblade, she must earn her wings. If she is to survive Kain, she must make a choice that could burn their world to ash.

This is the first book in the Flame Cursed Fae romantasy series, and is inspired by Norse mythology and sexy fae Vikings. It has villain gets the girl and obsessive burn-the-world-down-for-her (literally) hero vibes. The romance is slow burn and builds in steam and delicious tension.

I literally finish this book within a few hours I could not put it down. I loved everything about it, far games and trials one hot grumpy disgraced fire fae. The world building was incredible..

Amazing start

This was an okay first book . I liked it but didn’t love it . The voice acting was very well done specially the mmc but was lacking emotion in some parts, overall it was enjoyable and a fast read.
Things that I liked : the magic of both fmc and mmc . That the academy was divided in 4 animal companions which they will all eventually get linked with .
What I didn’t like : people behaving like bitter kids . Like everyone in the academy is an adult but still they act like children (it would make more sense if they were teenagers). There is also a semi spicy scene that I felt was out of place like our fmc sees the mmc and is blinded by lust? Really? Unless this is something magical it felt very off for me and it’s the reason I dropped it to 4 stars

A fast read , not perfect but enjoyable

Lots of superfluous information at expense of progressing the story or characters. Great idea though.
Can’t work out if this is read by AI or real people??

Meh

The plot is great, didn't want to stop listening but most of the audio sounded like it was ai, especially the FMC. very strange as it didn't flow properly in some bits but didn't take away from the story

decent story strange audio

I think I needed, or at least hoped, to get some answers to what was going on with Maddy! I felt throughout like maybe she'd actually be brimming suppressed power and that perhaps her staff might even have been deliberately hindering her? But we didn't get any of those answers, sadly and frustratingly.🤷🏻‍♀️ I also wondered if her suppressed power, if it is, of course, could be causing her blackouts.🤔

I can't help liking Kain. I think his 💀ery ways will be kind of justified. Have the Valkyrie been corrupted? Is that why Kain and Maddy are there to clean them up?

Argh, I have so many questions!😆 I think I'm going to absolutely LOVE book 2.👏

This had some stunning imagery, fascinating characters, and a frustratingly intriguing storyline.😍

The audiobook could have been a bit better. The male narrator was very good as growly Kain. I felt the female was quite flat across the board as Maddy and other characters, which was a bit disappointing. I also think it needs to commit to being completely a dual pov audio.🤞

I'm very excited for book #2.😁
