Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

Drifters in search of work, George and simple-minded friend Lennie have nothing in the world except each other - and a dream. A dream that one day they will have some land of their own. Eventually they find work on a ranch, but their hopes are doomed as Lennie - struggling against extreme cruelty, misunderstanding and jealousy - becomes a victim of his own strength.

Tackling universal themes, friendship and a shared vision, and giving a voice to America's lonely and dispossessed, Of Mice and Men remains Steinbeck's most popular work.

Steinbeck was a brilliant writer and I thoroughly enjoyed the performance of this story.
I recommend The Grapes of Wrath if there’s anyone left who hasn’t read it yet!

The story was very predictable but showed a good insight into life back in the Great Depression. Performance was good but not outstanding. Overall liked the book.

I really enjoyed this book, short but powerful. It was read beautifully too, the scene was set instantly. After a long book it was just what was needed
