In April 1956, at the height of the cold war, Khrushchev and Bulganin leaders of the Soviet Union are in Britain on an official visit. Such a great combination of writing and reader. I just wish there were more books in the two series (Troy and Wilderness). I've listened to them all several times over the past few years. Been an Audible member since 2004 and these are among my favourites.

Perfect reader for a lyrical, punchy writer

From start to finish this story seemed to be written by someone on drugs!!! Rambling and incoherent rubbish (my view...). Difficult to read between the lines.... but when you do, the story is there. Its a hard listen but one possiblly worth wading through the detritus to get to the end. Hasn't put me off John Lawton but if the next one starts off like this, it's going back.
