He’s the goat of the NFL. She’s a hot-headed reporter who despises him. They’re in the same small town for the summer. What could possibly go wrong?

I'm more than aware of the responsibilities that come with being a quarterback in the NFL. The upside—I get to do what I love every day, which is play football. And I make more money than I know what to do with. The downside—everyone wants a piece of me, and the press stalks me ruthlessly. And one reporter in particular, Brinkley Reynolds, has crossed a line. She takes things too far. So yeah, I have her escorted out of the press conference. Imagine my surprise when the same woman walks into the coffee shop in the small town where I’ve gone to get some privacy for the summer.

I accuse her of stalking me. She calls me every name in the book before proceeding to make me feel very unwelcome in Cottonwood Cove. Her hometown. The place where she tucked tail and ran after I’d unknowingly gotten her fired.

So now, I’m public enemy number one. That’s fine with me. I’m not the biggest fan of her either. She’s equal parts stubborn and aggravating. But she happens to be the sexiest woman I’ve ever laid eyes on.

So I try to make amends. I’m not the devil after all. But she won’t give me the time of day, unless I agree to give her my story. One I’ve fought hard to protect since the day I started playing professional ball.

I don’t owe Brinkley Reynolds anything. So why am I considering giving her everything?

This is book three in the Cottonwood Cove series. Each one can be listened to as a complete stand-alone. An HEA is guaranteed!

I love this series so much. This is my first Laura Pavlov series & I can't wait to devour her backlog.

Small town romance has got to be my favorite genre right now, add a sprinkle of sports and I am sold.

Lincoln and Brinkley have a rough meeting that turns even more sour as that meeting causes Brinkley to lose her job.
Now Lincoln in her hometown and things are just starting to heat up.
The writing is so much fun to read, the banter, bickering and the sass was some of the best I've read.

Watching these two young adults grow from enemies, to friend, and finally to lovers was very beautiful as it was unfolding.

The audio was great. Erin Mallon and Joe Arden are always a great pairing.

Small Town and sports romances are my comfort books, and this book have both, with a bit of enemies to friends to lovers thrown into the mix, and it worked pretty good!

I've already said it before, that I was completely in love with The Reynold's family, from their parents to the siblings love and support system, and even their cousins, (that I'm looking forward to start listening too), and this third book didn't disappointed me at all.

Lincoln and Brinkley have had a hard start when she got fired from her job after she followed him into the bathroom for an interview. Fast forward a few weeks and he's in Cottonwood Cove to take a breath and decide his future, when they collide again, but this time, they're on her turf.

Their bickering was entertaining to listen, but the way they couldn't resist the pull and their sizzling chemistry, was definitely my favorite part.

They're so mature in the way they handled everything that could've been an issue or an obstacle to them as a couple, and obviously I have to mention again how The Reynolds embraced Lincoln as one of their own and how perfectly he fitted with them!
I'm still swooning over him with little Grace!

It'll be hard to say goodbye to this family, but I can't wait to read Flinn's book!

🎧 About the Audiobook Narration 🎧

Narrated by Erin Mallow and Joe Arden and I don't have to say anything more!
Flawless is the only word I can use!
It would be the perfect audiobook if it was in duet narration,  but it was great anyway.

Ok, so we are halfway through Laura’s Cottonwood Cove series and this was another amazing read. This series just keeps getting better and better IMO. This instalment features Brinkley (the eldest Reynolds daughter) and Lincoln, who’s pretty much the GOAT of the NFL. An unlikely meeting between these two doesn’t go well and it’s fireworks from the word go. I found their banter really funny at times.
Brinkley doesn’t hold back with how she feels towards Lincoln.

“You want to ask me about the size of my dick and write about it?” “You sure are full of yourself. For the record, I take my job seriously. So, unless you want to sit down and let me interview you for real, this conversation is over.” “Don’t threaten me with a good time. See you around, sweetheart.” “Bite me, jacka$$.”

However what I found endearing about their story was the build up from enemies to lovers, then friends and then eventually lovers. Lincoln has a lot of layers and I found his relationship with his mum so sweet. She was and is his everything. Later on in the book there is a nice little twist which I wasn’t expecting, so that was a nice surprise and it looks like we will meet these certain new characters in a later series/book.

I listened to the audio which was narrated by Joe Arden and Erin Mallon. Again, great, engaging narration from them both. They embodied Brinkley and Lincoln so well. I definitely got a bit flustered with Joe’s narration at times, wow 🔥🔥🥵

I’m loving this series and can’t wait for the next instalment.

Back in Cottonwood Cove with Lincoln and Brinkley.

I love their bantering, but you can feel the attraction and growing love between them.
