Gavin is creating a unique 'holiday experience’ - every facility any tourist who hates going abroad will ever want will all be available on a converted North Sea oil rig.

To test the facilities, he's hosting a reunion for his old school friends. He is so busy showing off that he doesn't notice that another group have invited themselves along - a collection of terrorist mercenaries who are occasionally of more danger to themselves than to the public.

Proper laugh out loud moments and belly laughs included.... if Die Hard happened in Scotland! 🤣🤣🤣 although I think Chris missed a trick... 'oh My God they killed Kenny' would definitely fit in this book!.... I'm a bit sad that my next in line is narrated by an American and the accents are .... well let's just say I think I'm going to actually read rather than listen to it! I do hope it gets re done with Angus King reading soon! I could listen to Angus all day long (and quite often do!) Fantastic book and well worth the credit!

Superb!

Ok so the Geordie-type accents aren’t the finest but the Scottish ones are a joy! Cheers.

I'd read this over a decade ago but love angus king and was happy to say it was as good as my memory of the book.

Great book, great narration

Another brilliant tale. Brookmyre at his best.
The only downside and this was due to the reader. Generally I like him, previous Brookmyre recordings but he has the worst Geordie ascent ever. It was actually quite distracting.

Christopher Brookmyre st his best

We loved this audio book. First Chris Brookmyer book we have listened to. Found out about it having listen to The Stranger Times by C.K. McDonnell (which is also brilliant). So cleverly constructed and funny but yet with a background of serious reality. Looking foward to listening to more. Brilliantly narrated also.

Clever, funny and bonkers.
