About this listen

On 13 March 1996 Thomas Hamilton walked into the gym hall of a primary school in Dunblane armed with four legally owned handguns and in less than four minutes fired 105 bullets, killing 16 young children, their teacher and injuring many more. It was a crime that first shocked the world then changed the nation.

Based on original archival research and exclusive interviews with parents, politicians and police, One Morning in March tells for the first time the incredible and powerful true story of how, in their darkest hour, a band of parents used their grief as fuel in a fight to forever ban handguns in Britain, and create the tightest gun laws in the world.©2026 Stephen McGinty

30 years to the date, those poor innocent babies..... one morning in March well written, comprehensive, beautifully delivered by Angus king who I am more used to narrating fiction but he's done really well here. Thank God our gun laws are what they are after this horrific event, truly it sets us apart from the USA, one incident of this magnitude is one too many. God bless those children, their families and those police and medical staff. America should take heed.

Just so sad and so could of been prevented

Fair amount of detail on Hamilton I was not aware of and asks way too many questions about the seeming lack of accountability taken by any party following the event, not least the police. Sympathetically told by the author and concludes with no real answers but I guess we shouldn’t expect any either

Good.
