Summary
Zina's life is shattered in an instant. After the brutal murder of her fiancé, Troy Blackwell, in Chicago, she is left drowning in grief, haunted by unanswered questions, and burdened by a past she can no longer outrun. As if loss weren't enough, her twin sister Nina lies in a coma—her fate uncertain after a mysterious and violent attack.
Desperate for a fresh start, Zina abandons law school and flees to Los Angeles, hoping distance will dull the pain. But the past has a way of following her.
In the City of Angels, Zina is drawn into an unexpected romance with Donovan—a charismatic and enigmatic drummer whose charm begins to break through her emotional walls. Just as she starts to believe in love again, unsettling truths begin to surface. Donovan is not who he claims to be, and his presence in Zina's life may be far from coincidence.
As secrets unravel, Zina finds herself caught in a dangerous web of deception involving organized crime, hidden identities, and a conspiracy that ties directly to her family's tragedy. With her sister's life hanging in the balance and her own under threat, Zina must confront the past she tried to escape.
On the other side of yesterday lies the truth—but uncovering it may cost her everything.
