About this listen

Hockey is my first love. And I’m coming off the best season of my life.

In the process of scoring the winning goal that gave us the Stanley Cup I tore my MCL, and I’ll need to spend the next few months recovering.

Eloise Gable, the team’s new physical therapist, has been sent to Rosewood River to help me heal and get me ready for the new season.

Yet, she doesn’t seem all too happy about the situation.

In fact, she can’t stand me most days.

It doesn’t stop me from staring at her any chance I get.

She’s beautiful and brilliant, but she’s got her guard up the minute I get close.

Eloise is a distraction I wasn’t prepared for.

Did I mention that she’s also my coach’s daughter?

But after a long run together in the summer heat, our built up tension snapped.

We end up stripping down and jumping in the river.

It seemed like the logical thing at the time.

The problem is, Eloise Gable is completely off limits.

But I’m a professional hockey player, and in my world, limits were meant to be pushed.

Hockey may be my first love, but after falling for my coach’s daughter—it’s definitely not my last.

This is book 3 in the Rosewood River Series. Each one can be listened to as a complete standalone. A HEA is guaranteed!

I am voluntarily writing this honest review after listening to a free ALC via Valentine PR. All opinions expressed are my own. OVER THE MOON is the third audiobook in the ROSEWOOD RIVER series by Laura Pavlov. This story is about Clark, the youngest of the Chadwick siblings, who was a professional hockey player. He had come home to Rosewood River over the summer break to rehab the torn MCL he had injured while scoring the winning goal in the Stanley Cup. Eloise Gable, the coach’s daughter, was sent to Rosewood River for the summer to work with Clark. She had recently finished her dual DPT and Athletic Trainer degree and been hired on by the team. She had signed a contract that she would not fraternize with anyone employed by the hockey team, and getting into a relationship with Clark risked both her career and Clark’s. However, the two couldn’t fight their compelling attraction and decided that they would have a summer fling. What would happen at the end of the summer? This is a small town, enemies to lovers, forbidden, workplace, contemporary hockey romance. It is written as a first person, dual POV, open door novel. The narrators, Charlotte North and Teddy Hamilton, did a fantastic job, and I enjoyed listening to this audiobook from beginning to end. The story touched on the experience of a young woman working in a male dominated profession and the inequities in treatment and expectations for a professional male athlete and a female employee working for a professional sports team. I truly adore the Chadwick family and would be very happy to be adopted into their supportive, tight knit clan. I definitely recommend this audiobook for listeners who enjoy the tropes listed above. This one is a real gem.

📖 Eeeeek!!! I love all Laura books, but ohemgeee this has got to be top three LP books of all time! I am absolutely obsessed with Clark and Weeze, they are perfect and I will hear no criticisms. Clark is swoony and cute and funny and hunky and dang he’s obsessed with Eloise from the jump. And I just love Eloise and related to her trying to make it in a male dominated field, it’s tough! Their chemistry and friendship grew and grew, in such a natural way, and I was cheering for them to push to the next step so badly (don’t worry, all good things come to those who wait in a Laura universe)! As always the Chadwicks are amazing, and speaking of them I think the funniest scene I may have ever read happens in this book… drunk dinner—IYKYK—I howled and laugh cried and had stomach cramps from this scene! I also cried some emotional tears in this one. I LOVED the relationship between Eloise and her dad and it had me all in my feels. The girl gang is also really developing and they are so cute. The setup for the next book was soo good, those two are going to be epic! Bravo, Laura, this was spectacular!

🎧 I am loving the duet audio for this series and this was perfectly cast! Teddy as absolutely perfect as Clark! He just totally fit Clark’s fun, sporty vibe and nailed all the banter with Weeze. And Charlotte slayed as Eloise! She captured her independent and loving nature to a tee!

I always look forward to Laura Pavlov’s books, and spend time in the wonderful world and fabulous characters she created because she never disappoints. It is great to be back in Rosewood River for another amazing novel, a small town, sports romance, a forbidden romance between the team’s star hockey player and the team’s physical therapist, who is also the coach’s daughter. Clark Chadwick tore his MCL while scoring the goal that won the game for the team and the Stanley Cup. His off season will be all about recovering from his injury and building himself back up to play for next season. The team’s owner, doctor and coach are allowing him to go home to Rosewood River to rehabilitate and they are sending their new physical therapist to work with him while there. Eloise Gable, the team’s physical therapists, does not want anyone to think she got the job because she is the coach’s daughter, but because of her merit. Relocating to work alongside the team’s star player, a prima donna who receives preferential treatment, isn’t ideal, but she’s the newest hire and does as she is told. She finds that staying in Rosewood River is not as bad as she thought it would be and she made some friends rather quickly. She also realized Clark was nothing like she thought he was and working with him was not the challenge, but the challenge was fighting the chemistry between them and getting romantically involved. It was great watching these two work together and see their relationship morph into something so much more. The back-and-forth banter and dialogue between them was charming and amazing. I loved all the layers to this story and how it all played out with a perfect balance of drama, a touch of angst, heartwarming moments, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn, but so worth the wait romance. I also love the family dynamics, the camaraderie amongst the Chadwicks, their group chat, and their bond, as well as Eloise’s relationship and bond with her father. As always, the writing, plot and world building are incredible, as are the character growth and development. It was great to see the characters from earlier books, including one of my favorites, Beef Cake! Laura Pavlov, thank you for another exceptional story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧Charlotte North and Teddy Hamilton were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life, giving each a voice that was fitting for a perfect portrayal of each. North was fantastic as Eloise, showcasing all aspects of her personality and demeanor, from professionalism to her caring side and all in between. Hamilton was a natural in Clark’s role, nailing his charming personality perfectly. Both were equally fantastic at performing the roles of the secondary characters, handling all the witty dialogue effortlessly. Their pacing and tone were just right for the story and they conveyed all the characters’ emotions into their performance, making you feel them all. These two made a fabulous team, with talent and voices that complement each other and an entertaining performance that keeps you glued to the story.

This was the perfect blend of hockey workplace romance and a small town setting. It had all of the tension and 'we shouldn't' moments, while having the found family elements you get in small town romances. I loved the appearances of characters from other series too 🥺
I listened to the audio of Over the Moon and it was done so well!

After winning the cup and getting injured, Clark Chadwick came home to recover. Thinking he will do some rehab and just relax and soak up the family vibe. Until he learns that the team has arranged for Eloise to be his physical therapist while he is recovering. Eloise is the daughter of his coach, so that means she is completely off limits.

Eloise doesn’t seem to like Clark much. Especially since she has to move to Rosewood to give him PT. And considers him a ‘diva’. But the more time she spends with him, the more she realizes that maybe she made a mistake on her judgement of him…

I loved this one. It was a easy, fun read. I enjoyed their workout sessions. Chadwick was so easy to fall for. The chemistry between them was hot and fun. His family was a riot and loved their interactions 😊

The narration was amazing. Teddy Hamilton is always a joy to listen to. I get hooked on his audios always. Charlotte North was a good addition. I haven’t done much of her audio’s, but I got addicted to this duo very easily 😊
