Summary

Perfectionism is a character or personality trait that causes life to feel like a never-ending report card. A perfectionist feels as if they are being forever graded on their accomplishments, appearance, organization, and just about everything else.

This audiobook explores the ways in which perfection can have positive and motivational impacts, like providing the drive to overcome adversity or achieve certain goals. However, it can often become difficult to manage and lead to unhealthy outcomes that can translate quickly into anxiety, relationship challenges, daily struggles, and overall unhappiness.

You’ll learn how to identify perfectionistic tendencies and their triggers as well as how to build self-acceptance and self-esteem. Learning to cope with and manage perfectionism can lead to better relationships with family, coworkers, and most importantly, with yourself.

Case studies, professional advice, practical tips, chapter recaps, and several easy-to-follow mini-lessons are included in order to make this an audiobook that listeners will use as a reference tool for many years to come.

I have always strived to be the best at anything I do.. I’m not sure I would call myself a perfectionist, but I do struggle with some of the traits a perfectionist has. This book is very insightful, teaches the positive and negative impacts being a perfectionist can have. I feel like I have learnt some valuable information about myself which I was not aware of before. Will be listening to it again and continue to work on myself. I recommend this book

Insightful and educational

The book “Overcoming Perfectionism How to Let Go of Self-Criticism, Build Self-Esteem, and Find Balance” gives good insight into Perfectionism. I don’t think one can overcome Perfectionism, but the book helps provides insight into the personality trait that I never studied before.
It can be challenging living and working with the perfectionist, but this book gives and helps to identify tendencies and acceptance, which will lead to a better relationship and a happy family

I have a tendency to always want to be perfect in everything I do, and over the years I've noticed how this was a problem, in fact, in addition to taking a lot more time than I should on a task, I would often find myself unhappy with my performance, criticizing myself unnecessarily. This book provided me with useful strategies to not be so hard on myself, making me happier and more satisfied with my work. In addition, my productivity has also improved, as I no longer spend time trying to make everything perfect, focusing instead on the most important activities.

Don't be a perfectionist!

This book has helped me a lot get out of my mind and understand what is happening to me every time I try to be a perfectionist and overthink. It made me realise that I am good enough the way I am and that being an overachiever is quite draining and actually counterproductive at times. Though it is a short audiobook, it is straight to the point and clear, which is exactly what I was looking for. Really recommend!!

Great book to finally let go of my perfectionism!
