If you suspend your disbelief (which is real hard in this novel) it's pretty good cultivation story. Obviously it's not very good novel, but still isn't trash.
Oh, almost forgot. It has lots of infodumping and lots of MC remembering meaningless episodes/things from his past - just like a senile grandpa would
