This was a wonderful trip into nostalgia and reminiscence having grown up in northern England, even though I’ve been away for quite some time. I loved the interwoven subtleties of culture and life, the strong female protagonists that faced the odds and adversity with a gritty determination and hearty pragmatism. Simply wonderful.
