___________

He had never heard himself scream before. It was terrifying.

Alone, trapped in the darkness and with no way out, Bart Campbell knows that his chances of being found alive are slim.

Drugged and kidnapped, the realisation soon dawns that he’s been locked inside a shipping container far from his Edinburgh home. But what Bart doesn’t yet know is that he’s now heading for France where his unspeakable fate is already sealed…

DCI Ava Turner and DI Luc Callanach are working on separate cases that soon collide as it becomes clear that the men and women being shipped to France are being traded for women trafficked into Scotland.

With so many lives at stake, they face an impossible task – but there’s no option of failure when Bart and so many others will soon be dead…

Get ready for a rollercoaster ride like no other, with the next gripping thriller from the number one bestselling crime author, Helen Fields. The perfect read for fans of M. J. Arlidge and Karin Slaughter.

Performance excellent as ever! I found parts of the beginning very distressing and had to skip forward but thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless!
Is it just me, or maybe it’s the subject matter, but the descriptions of the rapes/murders seemed more brutal and graphic?

Addictive!

I have loved each and every book in this series. The characters are likeable, funny and maddening at times- you really get to know them. The plots are twisty and woven together really well. The narration is fabulous and I love that Robert Laing does all the books. Highly recommend! Once I listened to the first book I was hooked and had to listen to them all! So good I may even listen to them all again!

Entire series is brilliant!

The last in the series , I have thoroughly enjoyed these books and I am sad to this is last one. I hope there are more. I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much, but nevertheless would still recommend it. More please

Good Listen

For the first hour or so I suffered a small amount of déjà vu, the story seemed so generic that I was certain I'd heard it before, however, around the 90 minute mark, it started to grow into a great behemoth of a tale, pure thrills all the way through with Robin Laing giving a marvellous performance as usual.

I highly recommend this book to all fans of the series, all newcomers too as it could be read as a standalone, but better to start at book one which is also fabulous.
