Summary

Closer...
They found the town silent, apparently abandoned. Then they found the first body strangely swollen and still warm. One hundred fifty were dead, 350 missing. But the terror had only begun in the tiny mountain town of Snowfield, California.

...and closer...
At first, they thought it was the work of a maniac. Or terrorists. Or toxic contamination. Or a bizarre new disease.

...and closer...
But then they found the truth. And they saw it in the flesh. And it was worse than anything any of them had ever imagined.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

the narrator

the narrator should have practiced before recording

Was Phantoms worth the listening time?

yes

Any additional comments?

took me a long time to get into it, only because the narrator was pausing in what seemed like the wrong places....although the third part he seemed to have got the hang of it.interesting story and well planned out.

great story

The basic premise is interesting but I think the author gets in his own way telling the story as some unnecessary details are explained. Further we don’t really get to know the main characters which means we have no incentive to really care for and relate to them. Please note that I’m a constant reader of Stephen King - a master of character development, so my bar hereof is high.

Interesting basic idea

An excellent story and the narrator reads it well. I was gripped and loved every minute of it.
