You are likely to enjoy this short audiobook if you have recently been poisoned. It will guide you in responding to your bewildering situation. It includes thirteen engaging chapters, a lot of excellent writing, the occasional joke, and one narrator perfectly cast. And, yet, it is a bewildering book. It is a book of philosophy for children, which many adults will find equally engaging, even if they are not interested in philosophy. It is a love letter to stories that is itself a sort of story. It is a true story, too, but it is a true story about something that never happened by an author who doesn’t exist. If this leaves you bewildered, this book is for you. True, it is bewildering, and in that sense it is a poison, but it is also about confronting bewilderment, and in that it is a cure. I promise, it will go very well with your breakfast.

This is an unusual book without the usual type of linear storyline. Instead, there is a loose plot with many, many, meandering diversions and asides. These are frequently funny and usually thought provoking.
Patrick Warburton’s narration marries with this perfectly and gives the book an incredibly charming and listenable quality. His voice is somehow soothing and intensely relaxing, yet always animated and entertaining.
I love his performance and have listened to and enjoyed this unique book multiple times. Highly recommended!
