Massive let-downs in this book as it turns out two main characters' earlier deaths were not final and they are still alive/saveable. This just hit me as lazy world-building and story telling rather than a wonderful reunion. The story plods along setting up the final battle, but now there is no jeopardy as all main characters will clearly survive.
Oh, and yet more obvious shape-shifting tricks.
