I hate to say this but the narration is truly dire. His voice is so monotonous that I'm finding it hard to concentrate on the story. I will persevere because Ursula K Le Guin is one of my favourite authors but I will definitely avoid this narrator in future. Playing it at 1.25x speed is an improvement.

This is a great book, and a great ending to the trilogy. Le Guin is a master, she truly never misses!

Unfortunately the narration lets this book down, but is easily rectified by slightly speeding the recording up. Then the subtilises of the performance become more pronounce and the work shines for it!

OK, so the accents and bits of dialogue were done well. Sadly, the narrative in between any dialogue was so flat, limp, and giving the impression of a sullen teenager's face. His voice drones on like a reluctant 13 year old giving a sports match report in a Monday morning assembly! I can even see his rigid stance and the alternating of which arm hugs the other across his body, while he shuffles from left to right foot and back again. Such a shame for the last book of 3.

Always love Le Guin. Shame about the reader.
