Apart from some of the characters' annoying views about the fragility & incompetence of women (it was based in the 1950s), this book is well worth a listen. Good narration & interesting plot. I do enjoy Helen McInnes' work.

This is a very enjoyable novel, published in 1955. It is like watching a Hitchcock thriller. The story is set in Switzerland, with fascinating detail of the locality. The narrator has a lovely voice; he expertly performs all the voices – both male and female – and sound quality is also excellent. You can imagine Hollywood greats in all the key roles – perhaps Grace Kelly as Paula, Audrey Hepburn as Francesca, Cary Grant as Bill, James Stewart as Andy. This author wrote powerful novels without sex, without violence, without bad language, and she had in-depth knowledge of espionage.
