I love this book. Narrator is great in my opinion, I was hooked very fast. Can't wait for the rest of the series to be realised.

The more I listened to this story the more I got sucked into it. The characters grew on me more and more and by the end...yeah I need to know what happens next. Sarah Puckett and Michael Norman Johnson bring the characters to life beautifully and I can tell just who is who. A couple of the things that happen did really shock me. I hadn't thought that they would happen, but they were in line with the story and true to the character. And they helped to build up the various dynamics between the characters.

Arianne has been shielded her whole life not only about her family but the truth about the past and her future. Although there are restrictions in place, she is finally getting the chance to spread her wings and attend college. One night changes everything and when Nico comes her aid their fate is sealed and neither of their lives will ever be the same.

Nico has been groomed since he was a child to assume control of the mafia family. He has always done what is expected of him until Ari as he knows that being with the daughter of a rival family could end in bloodshed for all but if the choice comes down to love or loyalty everyone in his life might just be surprised by the outcome.

The heat between them is intense and the depth of their love knows no bounds but with so many forces against them they are in for the battle of their lives. I love a forbidden romance. I love a mafia romance. I love first times. And I love LA Cotton. Each of her books is original and has such a great story that it's impossible to stop listening! This one has so much in it, I don't even know where to begin. Arianne is the Capizola heir and to keep her protected, her father has a watchful eye on her. Now at college, she is taken with Nicco Marchetti, and little does she know that their families are enemies. This Romeo and Juliet story had me from the beginning. It's got an innocence that keeps me wanting to keep it that way and the gnawing undertone of danger that provokes me to keep listening just to see what is going to happen. It has characters I love, and others I want to strangle and just when you think it can't get any worse for this couple, the ending happens, leaving me wanting book two to see how it all turns out! Fantastic characters, exciting suspense, just enough angst and a love to end all others, LA Cotton has a winner.

Sarah Puckett and Michael Norman Johnson narrate this gem and together they become Arianne and Nicco. Emotions and frustrations all come through along with that thread of strong love in each of their voices. I am enjoying their performance and look forward to the conclusion!
