Summary

Brian King was honorably discharged from the United States Navy five years ago. He'd left with the highest honors a man can receive in his country, but he'd paid the ultimate price to earn them. He'd returned home with all his limbs, his right mind, and with his only brother Ford, at his side. But, one thing had been lost, maybe for good...his voice.

Now, being a bounty hunter is Brian's only means to satisfy his need to calculate, track, and capture. He missed companionship, he missed communicating. So, when he met Sway Hamilton - in the most unconventional means - he'd been surprised at his special way of understanding Brian's every look...and touch.

Sway grew up in the rough part of ATL, trailing behind his twin brother Stanton and his best friend, Dana. He and his brother had a bond only twins could understand. So when Stanton's life was taken during their sophomore year in college, Sway didn't think he'd ever recover. However, Sway knew there was more to life than heartache.

Sway has to learn to trust in love, and Brian has to believe that Sway will always understand him even if he never speaks again.

Contains mature themes.

Story: oh how I was waiting for Brian's story! By far the most fascinating character from the bunch and the most amazing love story! The connection, the trust and the understanding! AE Via is a master in creating complicated characters and making me fall in love with them! It was an emotional feast and a book I will definitely be revisiting time and time again!
Narration: perfect. Just perfect!

Unbelievably good!

Promises book 4 is the best book in the series so far!

The relationship between Brian and Sway is my favourite, book 2 Roman and Cayson has been pushed to 2nd place although Book 2's story is the best of the four.

The Nothing Special series is still my favourite, written later than Promises, A.E. Via's story telling and the characters are much more "solid". However both series are an absolute delight to listen to over and over. ( Had I bought these as paperbacks they would be worn out by now ).

Happy that both series have retained the narration by Aiden Snow. His voice and A.E. Via's writing and characters are the PERFECT match!

This is the 2nd time at listening to this book. I'd forgotten how amazing it is
This is by far my favourite book of the Promises series. 2 damaged souls that deserved to find each other.
Everyone needs a Tweety in their lives, she is adorable.
Aiden Snow is one of the best narrators. he brings just the right amount of life to each character.
I don't know how A E Via does it. But long may these amazing stories keep being written.

Amazing Book!!!

They meet in a kinky bar in the dark and know the other only by touch. But it leaves a huge impression and longing for the both of them. Unaware of having the same close friend. When they finally meet in real life, Brian has only one goal. He needs to convince Sway to stay in his life. But after he almost lost his life in that damn desert, he's left with the scars and backlashes that tell his story instead of his voice. Sway might just be the person who can help him get better. Aiden is on top performance. The way he talks as Tweety makes you laugh and when Brian finally starts uttering words, makes you wanting more.
