FIVE JOBS. FIVE CHANCES FOR REDEMPTION.

There's nothing like being blackmailed by a dead man to really bring a group of cons together. And what a group we are: a hacker, a thief, a con artist, a thug, and a Federal agent with an axe to grind.

The deal is simple, we do the jobs and Charlie's lawyer wipes the slate clean for each of us, one at a time. Since job number one calls for some muscle, it looks like I'm up first. I'm Steele Alvarez, ex-Special Forces Close Protection Specialist (a.k.a., a bodyguard for some not so nice guys).

After learning what the job is—taking down a seemingly untouchable senator with a penchant for beating up young male prostitutes—I'm in. No questions. A bullet ought to do the trick. Then I met Senator Harlan's latest victim: Breck Pfeiffer, the gorgeous hooker with a heart of gold and the soul of a fighter. One look at him and I'm gone. That kid laid me out harder than any punch ever did.

I'll do anything to protect Breck, even kill for him. But Breck doesn't want the senator dead, he wants vengeance. If we're going to find a way bring down the slimebag and get the blackest mark on my record erased, I'm going to need all the help I can get.

My first book by author and am hooked. Laughed out loud a couple of times. Can’t wait for the whole series to be available on audio

Great narrators. Hilarious plot somewhat lifted and changed from Charlie's Angels to make a charming, holiday camp mystery drama with a great cast of MCs to include the obligatory twins, a cop, a Father.

Was not expecting every avenue we went down which kept it lively and fresh. Looking forward to Book 2. Thank you Audible for the freebee.

SO FUNNY

This is such a fun spoof of Charlie’s angels with an amazing ensemble cast and I can’t wait to see where it goes. I loved the story and danger and romance but one of the narrators did their best to ruin this with the ridiculous voices of the twins, it made no sense why he chose to portray them as gruff old men? The other narrator was fabulous.

Loved this story

I liked the story & I'll be continuing the series on KU, especially as I really liked Bid Daddy, Silver fox, Leo & I was intrigued from the prologue & the epilogue sealed it.

I LOVED Steele, once he stopped being a horn dog, which was as soon as he met Breck.

Breck, I gotta confess, I did really struggle to like him as was incredibly juvenile & self-absorbed.

Until about halfway through & until he has his epiphany, he was incredibly whiney, selfish, childish, immature, irresponsible & he definitely suffered from FMC TSTL syndrome... I say FMC, as that's usually how authors (usually female) loce to portray FMCs thinking it depicts independence... it doesn't. It makes them TSTL.

The book literally starts with Breck SHAKING with fear, on the run & hiding out because he CAN'T handle the villain, yet he spends half the book telling everyone that he doesn't need anyone's help 🤦‍♀️ Lord give me strength!

Honestly, I would've DNF'd if I hadn't liked the other characters in the group. I still think that Steele deserved someone better than Breck!an interesting premise

an interesting premise

I think I'd have loved this as a read but some of the narration is really bad. Basically, there are loads of characters and the narrators struggled to voice them all so it was distracting at times. Not all the voices are bad but the twins are terrible. My advice would be to read rather than listen to it because the premise and story are enjoyable. This probably would have worked better as an ensemble cast with the voices being done by more people. Such a shame! I gave up half way.

Shame about the narration
