Exiled. Desired. Deadly.

The lost queen of a fallen empire returns to the land that betrayed her, wrapped not in silk but in secrets. To reclaim her stolen throne, she must court four rival kings—each powerful enough to destroy her, each dangerous enough to want her.

The Wolf rules through war, his touch a promise of conquest.

The Serpent commands a kingdom of whispers, his lies smoother than wine.

The Stag guards ancient knowledge and hungers to teach her the cost of truth.

And the Hawk kneels only to faith—and the fire that burns between them.

They all want her loyalty. She intends to take their kingdoms.

But alliances forged in desire are as fragile as the vows spoken in the dark—and betrayal is the only language a crown remembers.

In a world of blood oaths, divine politics, and forbidden temptation, she must decide whether to rule through mercy… or burn everything that ever claimed to love her.

Queen of Ashes and Shadows is a dark, steamy reverse harem fantasy where loyalty cuts deeper than lust, and one woman’s rise to power is written in seduction, strategy, and sin.

his was everything I look for in a dark fantasy audiobook. The world-building is rich, the political intrigue keeps you guessing, and the chemistry between the characters is intense without overshadowing the story itself.

The heroine is a fantastic lead, clever, determined, and far more interested in winning a kingdom than simply winning hearts. Each of the four kings has a distinct personality and motivation, so it never feels repetitive, and I found myself constantly changing my mind about who I trusted most.

The narration deserves special praise. Every character had a unique voice, making it easy to follow the shifting alliances and emotional tension. The narrator captured the atmosphere perfectly, from the quieter strategic moments to the high-stakes confrontations and emotional scenes. It really brought the story to life.

If you enjoy reverse harem fantasy with political intrigue, morally grey characters, betrayals, slow-burning tension, and a strong heroine who refuses to be anyone's pawn, this audiobook is well worth your time. I was completely hooked from beginning to end and can't wait for the next instalment.

Outstanding fantasy with brilliant narration
