About this listen

It is the middle of a long night shift for PC Sean Denton and his partner, PC Gavin Wentworth, when they are approached by a dishevelled-looking woman desperate that they follow her.

She leads them to the old Chasebridge High School, where they find the dead body of a refugee. The investigation, which points to the neighbouring greyhound stadium, finds Denton caught up in a world of immigration, drugs and sexual abuse and is one in which his private life becomes increasingly entwined.

Following in from the previous books this is a more complicated tale for Sean ( now a DC) and new as well as familiar characters. . It is so well written and well read it bowls along beautifully. I still love Sean.

Another cracker

Jonathan Keeble was an excellent reader especially with the character portrayals, however I felt this plot was weaker than the first two books by Helen Cadbury. Like many books now there is much swearing and blaspheming.

Excellent narration again
