About this listen

The eight stirring instalment of the urban fantasy-thriller series starring Rachel Morgan. A pacey and addictive novel of sexy bounty-hunting witches, cunning demons and vicious vampires.

Rachel Morgan has fought and hunted vampires, werewolves, banshees, demons, and other supernatural dangers as both witch and bounty hunter – and lived to tell the tale. But she’s never faced off against her own kind… until now.

Denounced and shunned for dealing with demons and black magic, Rachel’s best hope is life imprisonment – the worst, a forced lobotomy and genetic slavery. Only her enemies are strong enough to help her win her freedom, but trust comes hard when it hinges on the unscrupulous tycoon Trent Kalamack, the demon Algaliarept, and an ex-boyfriend turned theif. It takes a witch to catch a witch, but survival bears a heavy price.

This is another awesome chapter in Rachel Morgans, fast paced, complex dangerous life! This one is even more emotional than normal.

The story was excellent and has the same funny, sassyiness that the others do,. The only thing that irritated me, was that Rachel got a little whiny, and at random times acted out of character, I found myself wanting to shake her, and being less sympathetic to her at times throughout. The fact that she suddenly refuses to distinguish between killing someone with magic or without it was weird, and I found that this book grated a little when she makes odd decisions, very different to the others.

However, I loved the story as a whole, the narration is excellent, and I look forward to the next few books, I just hope Rachel loses this new found self-righteousness that is out of character and goes back to her fabulous self.

Excellent story
