A world the gods forgot.

Of all the worlds and life they created, the gods favored their children the most. But with that favor came the fear that their Legacy would one day become too powerful and overthrow them. Devram was created. A realm hidden amongst the stars. The gods gave their Legacy the best of all the worlds, and then they left, a sworn agreement to never return and to never interfere.

A historical event.

Forced to a life of servitude, the Fae are required to provide for the Legacy in more ways than one. Every five years, the eligible Fae are gathered for the Selection and assigned to serve in one of the six Kingdoms. To be chosen as the personal Source for a Kingdom Heir is the greatest honor, and for the first time in a millennia, all six Kingdoms have heirs choosing a Source. But their selections could tip the power balance a little too far.

A chosen that was never meant to be.Tessalyn Asura was as forgotten as the realm. But when she finds herself the personal Source to the Heir of Endings, she winds up serving in the darkest Kingdom of them all. The secrets within the Arius Kingdom are meant to be learned and kept, but this was never the life she wanted. Fighting not only the fate thrust upon her, but the temptation to lose herself to desire, Tessa will do anything to escape her new destiny. Until she starts to realize maybe their world wasn’t as forgotten as they thought, and maybe she’s the reason why.

Rain of Shadows and Endings is book one in The Legacy Series and ends on a cliffhanger. This is new adult dark fantasy romance series and includes elements that may be triggering to some listeners.

Enjoyed the storyline and most of the narration, but I’m so confused by the awful British accents the fae have. It doesn’t say anywhere in the book that they’re British so can only assume it was a direction choice. It’s grating and sounds like someone who’s had bad elocution lessons (and the male narrator struggles badly with it) it makes Tessa sound whiny and obnoxious, it really influenced my feelings towards her. (I’m British btw). However I’ve got used to it, (kind of) and looking forward to book two. I love both narrators normal voices.

It’s original

As the title suggests, both main characters are insufferable. The inlynone I liked, was Axel.

Was slow to get into. Persevere as it does get better but rather repetitive in language and text.
Story jumps between time frames which isn't for every reader. Lots of reviews highly rated the book but it's lacking fir me. Praise for originality love the fact it's different to the majority of books in this genre. Nice to have something different

A good story

This book doesn’t have nearly enough trigger warnings. It’s fine to write things like this but label it properly please! It’s not gorey violence but domestic abuse many of us have experienced in real life. The main trigger being a trapped and controlled fmc who loses all free choice and being treated like a child-doll by three grown and huge mmc’s - not allowed to speak, eat, talk, dress and constantly being under physical threat, grabbed by the throat etc. The annoying thing is that it is difficult to feel any empathy for her though, as she is so incredibly obtuse and non-communicative, it’s grating. She behaves exactly like the 5 year old they treat her as. Ive seen the British accent has been mentioned in previous reviews, this accent only adds to the fmc sounding so very, very dumb. If the fmc was someone I felt for this book probably would have received top marks. The story is original and the characters evolved enough. The male narrator has kind of a golden retriever voice which helps lighten the overall drawn out gloom. I prefer his chapters. There is also a weird obsession with food, or the withholding of, in this book. If you have eating disorders I think it will be a huge trigger.

Incredibly triggering and drawn out abuse

If I heard this ^ phrase one more time I would loose my mind.
Story was ok but I’ve read way better books. Wouldn’t be rushing back to read again or recommending to anyone but glad uve ticked it off my list.
Some positives: fmc was strong willed and opinionated. Annoying at times but stood by her word.
Mmc : make your own mind up on him. I’m torn

Gods damned
