About this listen

Legendary healers can save cities from the brink of death with a word, but warriors can destroy them just as quickly. Ren will become both.

Reincarnated into a world of magic and monsters, Ren gets a chance to live again. In a world where everyone awakens a single magical core, Ren discovers something impossible inside his soul: two. One a mana-bound healer, the other a warrior that wields the shadows.

But power comes at a cost. Ren’s unique abilities come with powerful enemies and strange mysteries. Guilds, demons, and kingdoms scheme as an era of change comes to the new world, dragging him into a bloody mess.

Fortunately, it turns out he thrives with his life on the line. Ren will walk through fire and drown in poison if that’s what it takes to grow his power.

What doesn’t kill Ren makes him stronger, and healers are very hard to kill.

Perfect for fans of The Beginning After the End, The Primal Hunter, and 1% Lifesteal!

The story is really enjoyable and good paced. The mc can be annoying at times, but overall is clinical and makes good decisions.

Some parts of the story that annoy me are the mc’s parents. They are written to greatly care for the mc, but are almost never around when he is in danger. One would expect a parent to be a bit more vigilant around their kid when they know he is in danger. The mc can also be a bit whiny.

The narrator does an overall good job. This is the second book i have heard with this narrator. I thought the constant whiny voice of the mc was mainly because he was a kid there too, but he uses the same whiny voice that makes the mc seem less genuine in a lot of the conversations in the book.

Really like the story

Really liked this. Decent plot. Not too heavy on the law. Different concept. Can’t wait for the next.

Really good. Would read next
