An action-packed new Isekai LitRPG Series from the bestselling author of Reborn as a Demonic Tree!
Power up and become an unbeatable final boss.
Damien Nightshade, a discarded royal masquerading as a Professor in one of the continent's greatest magic academies, is considered a mid-level boss—one fated to die in every playthrough.
Now, I have transmigrated into his body.
A game-like world has become my reality, and instead of being its hero, I'm cursed to die a pitiful death as a fated villain.
But why should I accept life as a third-rate villain when I can strive to become the unbeatable final boss?
Don't miss the start of this new Isekai LitRPG Series from Xkarnation, the bestselling author behind Reborn as a Demonic Tree.

A vampire isekai noble story with “deep world building” sounds like the most generic setup imaginable, the kind of thing you assume will be just another bowl of fantasy slop. But somehow the author proves that when someone actually knows what they're doing, even a trope-filled premise can turn into something great.
The first few chapters are a bit rough to chew through, but they’re there for a reason. Character development actually matters here. The main character is not immediately likable. Honestly, unless you're a bit of a psycho you probably won't like him at first. But watching him slowly grow into a calculating, confident boss-type protagonist is extremely satisfying.
The LitRPG elements are handled really well with a small twist in the system structure. Thankfully it’s not constant stat-dumping either. The system is more like seasoning sprinkled on top of the character progression instead of a spreadsheet shoved down your throat every chapter.
The world itself is a fun mix of low and high fantasy with a grimdark tone on top. Fans of the "Overlord" books will be delighted to read it.
The author clearly doesn’t treat the audience like children. You’ve got your usual elves, dwarves, monsters, dragons, magic, sword arts, and all that classic fantasy stuff, but this time there’s actually some brains behind how it all works.
Another big plus is the protagonist’s power fantasy. He’s strong, but not stupidly overpowered. By any normal standard he’s definitely not weak, but he still has to rely on his wits to achieve his goals. The problem solving never feels overly complicated or painfully simple. Yes, there is some plot armor, but come on. We’re reading LitRPG isekai here, not a documentary about medieval farming.
The book also avoids the classic mistake of drowning the reader in a million pointless side perspectives. Side characters exist, but they mostly function like quick scene cuts in a movie to move the story forward. Short, clear, and not wasting your brain cells on information dumps nobody asked for.
Honestly, I was marathoning this audiobook while wiggling my feet like an excited little kid waiting to see what happens next. The pacing keeps you hooked. It’s not purely a fighting-focused story though. There’s a lot of settlement building, rank climbing, and power consolidation. The protagonist is also very much a magic-focused character. Normally I prefer the good old unga bunga big sword type of protagonist, but the magical tricks and strategies here kept things fresh and interesting.
Long story short: a damn good vampire boss power-fantasy LitRPG.
Take my money and please write the next book already.
Also big props to the narrator. The voice acting is genuinely great, with solid range and very clean audio. No disgusting mouth noises, no wet tongue slurping sounds. Anyone who listens to audiobooks knows exactly how valuable that is.
God what a treat.
