Summary

You never forget your first love....

Damien King has made a decent life for himself as an Alpha firefighter in his hometown. Drinking with the crew of Engine #15 and picking bar fights with men who insult omegas keeps him from thinking about his past.

Back in town for a funeral, the last person Tommy Laurence expects to save him from a burning hotel room is his long-lost heartache, Damien. Seeing his old best friend awakens feelings he had sought to forget, or at least they were best friends…until Damien had confessed his love a decade ago.

Damien can scarcely bear to see Tommy, but the attraction is too intense, and he can’t seem to stay away. A single steamy night between the two becomes a standing appointment. Damien finds himself torn between the pain of the past and the hope for a future, and when Tommy ends up pregnant, the two can no longer pretend to ignore the deep resentments that exist between them.

In this heartwarming 60,000-word gay Alpha/Omega mpreg romance, Red Hot Daddy, Tommy and Damien rekindle the embers of a forgotten passion and try to build the flames of a long-lasting love - for each other and their baby. Intensely passionate alpha-omega sex make this book suitable only for adult listeners.

This was a nice afternoon listen, nothing to heavy and was narrated in a spectacular fashion, I really enjoyed the character voices and how the story was brought across to the listener.

A sweet second chance book by Austin Bates. Barney Parkwynne did a good job with the narration. Listen to the sample and make your own opinion, Overall not a bad listen.

After suffering through a horrific event and a huge misunderstanding which caused them to separate, Damien and Tommy are once again thrown together by circumstances.
Both men are leery of one another, terrified of being hurt once again.
I wanted to smack them both upside the head at various points of the storyline and the slow pace had me gritting my teeth almost completely throughout but I'm glad I stuck through it.
It was wonderful seeing them get their HEA and of course Barney Parkwynne did an outstanding job of narration.

Slow-burn, enemies to lovers, second chance romanc

Enemies to lovers, second chance romance, due to a misunderstanding at school which sees Damien nearly beaten to death by Teacher and students, when he gets out of hospital Tommy has left town, and he believes that he got him bashed and left him to die, which was the furthest from the truth. Years later Tommy comes back to town for his fathers funeral, and Damien rescues him from a Fire, as he is now a Firefighter. The rest is history and they manage to forgive the past, and make a future. Really enjoyed

The story is always 4-5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, I’m over the half, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
