Warning, this book is definitely NOT a stand alone! There is a huge, slap you silly cliffhanger. That being said this story is full of action, attraction, slow burn romance and one fierce spirited woman! Looks like I'll be picking up book 2...

Michael's performance was not my favorite. His voices were sometimes whiny and his accents just lacked realism. I honestly would have preferred he not try different voices or accents as his normal voice is nice enough on its own.

This story was different than I had expected. The first chapter after the prologue had me very confused. It wasn't until I was a few chapters in that it all started to make sense to me. This book is filled with deception, betrayal, action, and confusion. Although the story was interesting, I had a very hard time following it. I felt like it jumped around too much between too many characters.

This narrator was new to me and I definitely enjoyed his work. His tone and timing were perfect. The only thing I would change is a little more difference in voice for each character.

I normally love mafia romance books but for some reason I just had a hard time getting into this story. Maybe it just didn't have enough romance for me, or I just couldn't connect with the characters. It had plenty of action and danger in it, though, and it definitely wasn't boring. Michael Johnson did a good job of narrating this story.

I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters I found the narrator to be a little off with some of his delivery but the strength of the story made up for it. It was fast paced and full of twists some I never could have ever guessed at. It does have a cliff hanger but it’s kinda to be expected with a fast paced and exciting book like this one. Definitely one to listen to again
