About this listen

Ricky Hatton in Las Vegas...what could possibly go wrong?

Ricky Hatton's brilliance as a boxer, his down-to-earth demeanour and his live-wire sense of humour have made him a national treasure. Five of Ricky's biggest and most explosive fights took place in the boxing Mecca of Las Vegas. Tens of thousands of British fans followed him there to watch these monumental bouts, and to soak up the unique atmosphere in Sin City.

In Ricky's Hatton's Vegas Tales, he recalls the most memorable moments: from fight negotiations through trash-talking transatlantic promotional tours, gruelling training camps, bizarre encounters with opponents, fans, A-list celebrities and boxing legends all the way to fight-week mayhem and the epic postfight benders that followed.

With contributions from family, friends and the journalists who know him best, tributes from Mexican boxing legends Oscar De La Hoya and Marco Antonio Barrera, plus the hilarious recollections of rock 'n' roll superstar Noel Gallagher, this is an anecdote-driven romp through all the highs and lows of Ricky's Vegas fights and the madness that preceded and followed each bout. What goes down in Vegas stays in Vegas...until now!

We all love Ricky......& it’s true, we all have a story about him. I’ve always been a fan, fortunate to have met him a couple of times and always as humble as ever and a down to earth bloke, good read, read it now.

I really enjoyed these stories Ricky told, although disappointing that Ricky did not narrate himself I think the narrator did a spot on job on translating the stories and acting out the parts of the other people in the stories, he brought it to life really well.
Highly recommend! And I’d really love to have had the chance to experience to being the main star in a Vegas fight weekend where “your money is no good here”……. Imagine

Ricky told his story warts and all which was a refreshing change to normal biographies !

The story was a little disjointed but never the less a great read and it was also well narrated.

I laughed out loud and also learned a lot about boxing. RICKY also sends a message to us all that Guts Hard work and belief in oneself can be a recipe for success. I absolutely loved this book and know that I will listen to it over again many times. Tony Preston Boxfit Wirral.
