A somewhat lack luster instalment, but I'm hopeful for the next one.

Tam and farson's voices are different after being consistent for the past 6 books which bugged me.

Feels like the whole book was setting a scene for the next book

the story line endowed the hero Resken with unmatched abilities and intelligence along with his loyal mage. so given all of the intelligence gathered from the dwarf and the historical experience with the deranged king, why would you walk into such a constructed plot ie. a city deliberately filled to bursting with vagrants deliberately by a tyrant king with demonic power, whom has the ability trasnsform his victims into demons. how could they expect to overcome it all when key person to unravel it, the inside man had not confirmed his status. this end was not to the standard of past stories.

the norative side was as always awesome.
