The first book did a great job of setting the scene and introducing the key players, the second expands on this. New characters are introduced while existing ones are expanded upon. Many of the more prominent characters go through deep development at a steady and understandable pace as they grow and learn.

The Company expands and bonds deepen, drawing the reader into their brotherhood and making you feel part of the group. Part of their journey.

The only criticism I might have is that some of the less mentioned characters seem to bleed together and I occasionally found myself confused by similar names. It took a moment of reorientation to realise who a character was.

Overall though, the story is gripping and I enjoyed it greatly.

The interior monologue of each character is a match of the story in general and there are concepts I haven’t come across before

Really enjoyable story loved it lots bring back memories of my youth when fantasy was fantasy and without the blood and guts of the modern grimdark. A feel good story well told will definitely read the next book in line

When I started to listen to this series after avidly reading them, I wasn’t sure the voices fitted mine, however it was so well done, I fell into the story - desperate for the next instalment to come out.
