About this listen
REGAN
I used to have big dreams.
Finish college, make beautiful art, and take over my dad's business. But his illness wasn't part of the plan. Neither was his sudden need to keep me locked up in his mansion. Until one night, I came face-to-face with a street biker. Rook Emberson is everything I should fear, yet he's the only one who's ever made me feel alive.
But loving him means risking everything.
ROOK
Revenge has always been my plan.
I've spent years plotting the perfect way to take back everything Regan Fletcher's father stole from me. When fate puts us together, I know I've found the key to his destruction. Regan is everything I didn't expect, and my plans begin to unravel. What starts as a twisted game of vengeance turns into an obsession.
The lines between love and vengeance blur, and I'm not sure where one ends and the other begins.©2025 Kate Crew

Don’t get me wrong the book had banter, characters who became obsessed with one another. A first attraction and a dark underworld that they both navigate. But I didn’t get that feeling I usually do with biker romances, I think the FMC was a bit annoying and so gullible I found it hard to believe how much she let her father get away with.
Rook was hot and a bad boy but at times I found their dynamic just feeling a bit forced. I also hated how he flip flopped on his feelings and actions against Regan. The ending felt a bit ridiculous lol it wasn’t as badass as I think the author intended.
I also didn’t vibe with the female narrator of the audiobook. She honestly sounded like she was dictating words she was reading not actually acting like the character. It was hard to listen to. 😭
I just didn’t feel the romance, nor did I dig the plot by the end. Oh well. I’d still check out book 2! I think that storyline may be a bit better.
Didn’t love it. Narration wasn’t the best either.
