Summary

It started with a single look...my obsession, my desire, and need to possess the sweet, and incredibly naive, Elena Romero. Dark raven hair and piercing green eyes. She would make a beautiful bride.

Ten million dollars and a forced signature later and she was mine. Like a thief I came in the dead of night and stole her away from her protected castle and placed her in a gilded cage made of gold.

The deal had been made. She would become my wife. She would bear my children. She would bend to my will. But most importantly, she would help me destroy the man she loved most. The man who took everything from me: her father.

im very sorry I could not enjoy this at all the women narrator just annoyed me so much I don't understand why she stopped inbetween of saying something like she was struggling to read what was on. the page the man narrator was perfect just couldn't finish it because of the women one

women narrator really irritated me

the female actor put to much into the role. so much so at some points she sounded almost automated. the story was great. if not for the female actor I would have bought the series

I love the story

ok, so i dont usually critisise a performance but this is justso frustrating. I'm really enjoying the book but I have no idea what effect the female narrator was going for but it just misses the mark. there are times when it's fine but each time shes narrating the female thoughts, she sounds so robotic it's spoiling the story. which is a shame as I'm really enjoying the story. this is why it's so important ot find the right narrator for the character. I'm going to persevere a bit longer to see if I can learn to ignore it or simply get used to it.

really want to continue but..

This book is fast paced and will keep your attention all the way.The female lead is much stronger than she knows and the brutal mafia boss has a few lessons coming his way!!! The narrators did a brilliant job and were perfectly chosen for the characters. A great listen if you like a dark mafia romance 💋

A pacy and spicy dark mafia romance with superb narration

Sound editors on this did an appalling job. Female narration was quiet compared to male narration, especially when voicing the man. Then when lead male spoke I had to turn volume down. Female narration incredibly robotic as others have said. Overly dramatic, heavy pauses and very amateurish. I have been spoilt by Maxine and Andi! Story also frustrating in daughter's continued faith in her father. Became a repetitive theme despite evidence he was not a good man.

Recording levels don't match. Female lead irritating.
