About this listen
They are called the Orang Pendek, masters of the steamy Sumatran rain forest.
Henrik Kooper watched his father die at the brutal hands of the orange-haired ape men. Having barely survived helping twins Natalie and Austin McQueen discover and destroy the beasts lurking in Loch Ness, it’s now his turn for vengeance. Within the treacherous jungles of Sumatra lies the fabled lost city of Gadang Ur. Its secrets are guarded by a savage band of Orang Pendek who lord over the strange and deadly creatures of the hidden land. Utter madness is the lifeblood of Gadang Ur. Henrik’s journey into darkness will take them to the ragged edge of hell on Earth.
Some places were never meant to be discovered.
Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!
Performed by Gavin Muir as Narrator, Marinaro Tampubulon as Surya Darmadi, Bradley Gareth as Henrik Cooper, Jas Patrick as Oscar Gaspary, Isabella Tugman as Natalie McQueen, Joey Iannitelli as Austin McQueen, and Chloe Dirksen.

The audio cast is pretty decent at voice acting. Austin and Natalie are very very American and somewhat a bit too corny and lighthearted. Henrich and the Sumatran porters were the superior voice actors.
I was happily surprised to see that in the Sumatran jungle with the lost city plot that dinosaurs were involved as well. An oversized Majungasaurus, a medium sized unidentified theropod and a feathered JP like raptor pack are among the additional antagonists the humans have to face.
Natalie does go through it with being captured and painfully dragged through a jungle, before being thrown into a pit and forced to witness a group of Orang-Pendek prisoners be graphically killed by a predatory dinosaur before having to content with it herself. Lots of moments of psychological distress for her.
Think of the orang-pendek as four foot heavily muscled and near human simians who ride elephants and tame dinosaurs.
Content warning for strong bloody violence and distressing scenes.
Corny voice acting did affect the overall rating but otherwise a pretty good jungle adventure story.
Pretty solid, violent jungle adventure, featuring the small orang-pendek and dinosaurs
