About this listen

Best-selling authors William W. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone give the classic American hero a real shot in the arm — in this epic story of a Rebel doctor fighting for justice in the aftermath of the Civil War.

On the blood-stained battlefields of a divided nation, Dr. Samuel Knight used his surgical skills to treat wounded Confederate soldiers. In the brutal prison camps of the Union Army, he offered his healing services to fellow captives who’d given up hope. But now, with the war over and the South in ruins, the good doctor faces his hardest challenge yet: to save himself.

Performed by Richard Rohan; Bradley Smith; Eric Messner; Henry Kramer; James Konicek; Laura C. Harris; Christopher Walker; Alejandro Ruiz; Scott McCormick; Bill Gillett; Joel David Santner; Lise Bruneau; Marni Penning; Zeke Alton; Matthew Schleigh; James Lewis; Delores King Williams; Steven Carpenter; David Coyne; Christopher Graybill; Steve Wannall; Colleen Delany; Stephon Walker; Michael John Casey.

Having read or listened to over a hundred Johnstone books I love them, not this though. Was painful to follow, characters and writing was just so uncomfortable and had no joy or pleasure from this book. If you are not meant re like any of the characters then they did well.

Sorry but I had to stop this as was uncomfortable.
