About this listen

Ella Frost hates Christmas.

If something bad is going to happen in her life, it’s going to happen at Christmas.

So she isn’t going to celebrate the holiday anymore.

When her family suddenly need her, Ella is forced to give up her dream of saying no to Christmas.

The problem is, she didn’t account for Jude.

Ella’s first love, the man whose heart she broke years ago is back in town, and her biggest regret is right in front of her.

When Jude convinces Ella to say yes to Christmas, she realizes, that’s not all she wants to say yes to.

I was gifted this book in exchange for an open and honest review and I can honestly say I loved it!

Cas is a new author to me and so had no idea what to expect but the synopsis of the book sounded like a nice romance story which is definitely my sort of book and I was not disappointed.

Ella is your typical 29 year old a bit beaten down by some experiences leading to her not being the biggest fan of Christmas and Dr Jude her smoking hot first love who despite some heartache in his life is a happy go lucky guy intent on making Ella see the magic of Christmas. Their story is so lovely and the writing envokes a real Christmas warmth and vibe to the reader which can be so hard to do.

The narrator I feel got the character of Ella just right and reads the story really well, I think the number of characters having to narrate (Ella, Jude, Natalia, Richard, Poppy, Mum and Dad) did mean that sometimes the voices got a bit annoying but didn't at all distract from the story and think the narrator on the whole did well with trying to change her accent/voice where there is a conversation going on between Ella and another character or at some points 3 or 4 characters.

I loved the story, think the audible version was good and can't wait to listen to more of Cas's books!
