This is Gerrick's story. So far we know him to be the most serious and dedicated Dark Warrior. He found and lost his mate centuries ago and remains committed to the protection of the other mates. No one should have to go through the pain he experienced.
Then there is Shae, a vampire who had been a prisoner of the demons targeting the Dark Warriors. Somehow there is a connection between the two. This connection makes little sense but will not be denied. However, there is so much the two have to sort out before they can figure out what they could be for each other.
Alex Black does a really good job narrating this book. He performs the book well, giving each character their own unique voice and personality.
I enjoyed this book and series! Looking forward to more!!
