Critic reviews

Gabor Maté’s connections—between the intensely personal and the global, the spiritual and the medical, the psychological and the political—are bold, wise and deeply moral. He is a healer to be cherished and this exciting book arrives at just the right time
His medical background and lucid writing style make complex biological processes accessible to non-scientific readers.
Rare and refreshing. . . . Here you will find family stories, an accessible description of brain development and sound information. You will also find hope.

Brilliant insights that have opened a door for me for healing. I'm 48 years old and just assumed that everyone was wired the same way as me. Leaving important tasks to the last minute, struggling to get going, constantly starting new things but never finishing them after getting bored etc. some of the traits and behaviours are negative. This book has helped me understand some of potential roots/triggers and that there are a range of options for developing oneself. Wish I'd had this knowledge much earlier in life (and that my parents had as well!)

Extremely helpful insights
