The further into the book, the more complex the language became and the more difficult either to hear the words or understand the narrator.By the end of the book, whole passages were indecipherable.l only stuck with it because there was a lyricism and a magical quality to the narrators tone and pace which was helpful when l was trying to sleep.
lam sure this is a captivating collection of tales, but it was all a bit wasted on me.................

The stories are good but between the thick accent and the old English phrasing (ok for the written word to read but it sounds pompous read out loud, no one speaks or spoke like that) it was a really hard listen, and I zoned out many times. Glad it was a free listen through my prime music subscription or I would’ve returned it. Recommend that you read the book instead
