Meet Alex, a photographer on a holiday with his family in the south of France. Meet Abe, a music producer with a baby on the way. Two men - both fathers, husbands, and sons - take us on a journey you will never forget. The finest actors of their generation, Academy Award® nominee Jake Gyllenhaal (Sunday in the Park with George) and Tony Award nominee Tom Sturridge (1984), had audiences roaring to their feet during the sold-out Broadway engagement. Now Sea Wall / A Life, a dramatic exploration of transformative love and devastating loss, comes to Audible.

I totally loved it! Not an easy listen, but bleeding brilliantly. Well done all involved.

Life with its mixture of beauty, love and gut wrenching sorrow. Exquisitely written and with performances in kind.

Beautiful

Gripping and so very real. More than once I found myself nodding or thinking, "I know how you feel". It's a realistic take on love and loss and everything that entail, very detailed and emotional. As a non-native speaker I had to slow it down to 0.85 to be able to catch what they were saying, as Sturridge especially reads at a very brisk pace. Even so I gave the narration 5 stars because the men do a remarkable job breathing life into this story, every word is believable. And why not? They are, after all, the people who originally played the characters on stage.

A story of humanity

Loved every bit of it...was not what I expected, both stories were very moving - had to take a break between them, the first kind of shook me, needed time to absorb...brilliantly performed.

Better than I thought!
