Second Comes War by Lilith Vincent is a mafia reverse harem romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Maeve York and Walker Williams. This is the second book in the Promised in Blood series.

This is the third book of Lilith's that I have read, and it won't be my last. I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I loved that we got Chiara, Salvatore, Vinicius, Cassius, and Lorenzo's points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

The book ended on a great cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't wait to dive into the final book Third Comes Vengeance.

Walker and Maeve did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like dark romances, mafia romances, reverse harem romances, or romantic suspense.

This book left me questioning everything. The author did a great job of keeping my attention throughout the story. Hot, hot. So entertaining. The narrators did a great job and I am awaiting book 3. Cause I have more questions than answers.

No no no no. I can’t believe Lilith has left this book here! With 4 brutal “boyfriends “ this leading lady is a very lucky woman. However there are questions….is her friend alive? Are her boyfriends ok? Will she escape the clutches of evil? I hate waiting. A brilliant performance.

Am I okay? No. Is it because I just finished Second Comes War? Mostly, yes. I have been cracked open and all my emotions and feelings and ideas on where this is going, that I thought I had together after FCB are now scattered to the four winds, never to be heard from again. Okay that might be a wee bitty dramatic, but it's nonetheless a truth. Because I am drained. Of hope, of clues, of emotions. And I won't know but one minutes peace until TCV comes out in December. I'm really glad Ms. Vincent gave us some deeper back story on the boys and how she really gave Chiara a bit more of a backbone. I foresee an explosive start to book 3 and I'm counting the days for such. Bring it on.
