THE SIXTH BOOK IN THE MUCH-LOVED DOVER CAFE WWII SAGA SERIES

Dover, January 1942

The war is closing in on every shore, and when Marge Atkinson is assigned to an elite group of Wrens, chosen to teach war games to naval officers, it seems like the perfect distraction from her heartbreak over Rodney Castle. Until she discovers who her new commanding officer is. Years ago, Captain Thomas Bennett destroyed her family, and now she vows to get her revenge - no matter the consequences.

Meanwhile, at Castle's Café, Nellie is trapped in a dangerous bargain. Allowing Lou Carter to stash black-market contraband in her café basement seemed harmless enough at the time. But when a sinister man arrives, threatening her family and demanding she store some mysterious boxes, she has no choice but to agree. Because if she doesn't, her grandchildren could pay the price . . .

The Dover cafe series is amazing, Ginny Bell brings the reader/listener right into the story, it's almost as if the reader is part of it with the characters so relatable, this is very much made so by the narrator. While its easy to catch up on events in each book I would recommend reading the series from the first book.
I pre-ordered this book and couldnt wait for the release date, but I finished it too quickly.

I just loved this series

The characters are so real. The two stories were so good. Loved the strong women, and how they stood up to the men and accepted Katie back with open arms.

Dover cafe series. when is the next one? I like the descriptions of Dover, Folkestone and the house on cliff to

I love this series and pre-ordered this book last year. It’s lovely going back to Dover and the Castle family again, but I didn’t find myself a bit frustrated with this book - how many times can Donny be threatened with kidnap and Nellie get herself into another situation she’s too stubborn to tell her family about!? Overall an easy listen and I enjoyed the story but I worry the series is now becoming a little repetitive.
